At Kilco, we work closely with the farming industry to increase animal health and wellbeing, improve hygiene standards and biosecurity, enhance productivity and profitability, and make farming safer for livestock, workers and consumers.
We’ve achieved this by creating an innovative range of products that blend cutting edge science with everyday practicality and performance.
Products that work in synergy with each other, and in synergy with your operations, to create a complete and comprehensive range from a single source, which is trusted across the world.
Kilco leads from the front when it comes to new products for the farming industry, with our own dedicated research laboratories. The Functional Chemical Research Centre is based in a purpose built facility, in Mallusk, Ireland, and is led by Technical Director, Dr Martin Garland.
The centre focuses on four core strategic areas in which we aim to help Kilco customers to improve the health and welfare of their animals. These are: disease prevention, food safety, drinking water and finding alternatives to substances of concern.
Kilco are a world authority on biosecurity products and protocols, with products such as Cyclex® leading the way as the first clinically proven defence against the organisms responsible for coccidiosis and cryptosporidium in poultry, beef and dairy cattle.
Cyclex disinfectant is 99.95% effective in eradicating the oocysts responsible for these diseases, yet has no chemicals of concern and no maximum residue limits. This makes it safe and convenient to use, improving livestock health performance.
At Kilco, we understand that infectious lameness can be expensive and difficult to manage for farmers and distressing to livestock. That’s why we created Farmalin® as a complete foot and hoof-care system for dairy farms, beef cattle and sheep.
The groundbreaking formaldehyde-free footbath formula can be used in two ways, with Farmalin® Maintenance used regularly to prevent infection and promote hoof health, and Farmalin® Intense used to fight bacteria where infection has already taken hold.
