New Improved Order Processing System

 

Dear All,

Kilco (International) Ltd. are committed to a process of continual improvement, and aim to take strides to ensure that our product and service portfolio is capable of meeting the broad range of all our customer requirements. As part of this quality-driven approach, we aim to ensure that all of the activities undertaken within the business are reflective of current best manufacturing practices, with particular emphasis being placed on a requirement to “track” all current orders on a real time basis.

For this reason, during February and March we have been developing and implementing a new semi-automated order processing and manufacturing dispatch planning system. By utilising this approach, it allows a visual timetable display to be created for the week ahead, so that the condition of all current orders can be tracked / predicted, e.g. when it will be manufactured, labelled, or dispatched. Furthermore, this will also allow any potential problems to be identified at an early stage if it is believed that an order may not be dispatched in accordance with the agreed timeframe. This will be an invaluable tool for our customer service managers and office staff to ensure that you can be fully informed during any query.

Following the successful validation of this new system, this will now become our standard approach to order processing with immediate effect. As part of this procedure, there are a few important things to note:

• Whilst we will continue to receive orders at any time of the day, there will be an order processing deadline time of 12 noon each day. This means that only orders placed prior to 12 noon will be collated together, processed and assigned an expected dispatch date that day. Any orders received after 12 noon will not be processed until the following day’s deadline.

• Any additions to orders must be communicated within 24 h of initial order receipt. If a request for an addition is outside this timeframe, then it will be treated as a new order in its own right.
