The Benefits of Cyclex
Cyclex disinfectant is one of Kilco’s best selling products because it is so effective and so versatile. Easy to mix, with strong microbial properties, it can be used to protect a wide range of animals, from pigs to poultry, cattle to sheep.

Safe and simple

Cyclex is safe and simple to use, with no maximum residue limit and no cyuranic acid. In fact it contains no chemicals of concern whatsoever, and is QUAT free. This gives it significant advantages over other, more harmful disinfectants such as formaldehyde, which may even be carcinogenic in certain circumstances.
Created as a 25% chlorocrestol solution, Cyclex mixes smoothly, producing a stable, sediment free solution that can be easily applied using a spray or foaming system.

Clinically proven

The first clinically proven defence against coccidiosis and cryptosporidiosis, Cyclex has passed a number of important independent testing standards, including:
EN1656 and EN14349 – for effectiveness against Psuedomonas Aeruginosa, Proteus Vulgaris, Staphylococcus Aureus and Enterococcus hirae
EN 1657 – for effectiveness against Aspergillus brasiliensis and Candida Albican
German Veterinary Association (DVG) standards – against Cryptosporidium parvum

Eliminating oocysts

It is essential to eliminate as many oocysts as possible from the environment, otherwise the consequences can be devastating. A single ingested oocyste can produce as many as 23 million new oocysts over a 28 day period, rapidly spreading diseases such as coccidiosis and cryptosporidiosis throughout your stock.

A 3% Cyclex solution with a contact time of 4hours, will eliminate 99.95% of spore forming oocytes in the environment without causing any harm to your animals.

Cyclex breaks the cycle

The oocyst initially enters the animal’s digestive system via contaminated grazing or feed. Within five days, the oocysts will have infected the cell wall of the small intestine, and by day ten this initial infection will have matured and re-infected the small intestine with merozoites in far greater numbers. In just over fortnight, a second generation of merozoites will move on to the large intestine, where it reproduces to form unsporulated oocysts. These are then eliminated from the animal into the environment, where they mature to become sporulated oocysts, ready to infect the entire flock or herd.
By eliminating 99.95% of all oocysts in the environment, Cyclex breaks this cycle and stops the spread of coccidiosis and cryptosporidiosis.
