Health, Safety and Environmental Manager

As an EHS professional with chartered membership of IOSH and dipolma level qualification or above in a relevant HSE discipline. You will join a motivated management team to provide expert EHS support in order to maintain and improve the Site’s EHS Performance.

Job Purpose

The role exists to support the company to achieve world class EHS performance & Zero Accidents, complying with all EHS regulatory ensuring the highest standards of loss prevention, risk management & emergency response to protect the safety of staff, neighbours and the environment and protecting the manufacturing capability of the site.
 

You’ll use your technical knowledge, leadership qualities and strong communication and influencing abilities to provide managers with the technical guidance, coaching and training to enable them to effectively manage EHS performance within their business areas and provide training to enable staff to safely carry out their duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provision of general EHS advice, guidance, coaching & training to Managers and staff
  • Advice and input to the generation of the development of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Development and maintenance of EHS strategies and plans, EHS management system elements & performance metrics
  • Investigation of near misses and adverse events
  • Involvement in and leadership of internal & external EHS audits & liaison with regulators.
  • Emergency Response Coordination
  • Responsible for monthly EHS reporting to corporate HSE team
     

To be successful you will possess the following:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in the chemical manufacturing industry or other high risk industries and experience of working with SEPA, HSE and other regulators.

A recognised EHS Qualification (e.g. NBOSH Diploma or equivalent) or a Master’s Degree in an EHS Subject or relevant experience in the chemical manufacturing Industry
